Free Workshop about Historic Tax Credits

The community is invited to an educational workshop about how to qualify for and use historic tax credits on the revitalization of a historic home or building. This free workshop will be Thursday, January 30 at 5:30 p.m. at the Robert Cherry Civic Center located at 2701 Park Avenue. Pre-registration is not required.

The guest speaker will be Site Development Program Administrator Katie Wilborn with the Kentucky Heritage Council (KHC). The KHC’s Site Development Program oversees State and Federal Tax Incentive programs to encourage the protection and rehabilitation of historic properties listed in (or in some cases, eligible for) the National Register of Historic Places.

Paducah Planning Director Carol Gault said, “Paducah’s historic architecture is an important part of our local story. Revitalizing our beautiful old structures takes time, patience, and, of course, money. I encourage our development community and owners of historic homes who are interested in the challenging but rewarding effort of restoration to attend this workshop. The Kentucky Heritage Council does a fabulous job working with communities to provide resources and guidance in navigating the historic tax credit process.”

The Kentucky Heritage Council and Paducah Main Street are partnering to bring this educational workshop to the Paducah community.
